Today's catch:
we have a new addition to the cottage
One of the best things about having Linda for a business partner is the fact that wherever she is, whatever she's doing she always has the shop's best interest at heart. What I mean by that is, in addition to having great visions about what next to do in store, she is always shopping, always open to finding bigger and better things for the shop. It doesn't matter how early she has to start the day or how far she has to go or how much she has to lift. Her shopping rhythm is like the song by Dianna Ross and the Supremes, "ain't no river wide enough..."So I really wasn't that surprised when I saw this.
In the bed of her truck amidst cupboards, a console table, a garden set, a dresser, painted ladders and mirrors was nestled an old cement Doberman.
We have affectionately adopted her as our guard dog, watching over all our cottage treasure. Extreme yard art.
Happy shopping,
Ann
something old
Thursday, July 24
A fabulous collection of old nativity sheep from old churches just arrived at the cottage! Here's a few, most have already found a home!
Aren't they wonderful. I love them so much, not just because they are fabulous in and of themselves, but because they represent so many years of celebrating Christmas.
It's a beautiful day here in Leesburg. The humidity left with the rain storm last night:). I have the doors wide open and am enjoying a soft summer breeze. Hope your week is going well.

We just brought in a truckload of some of the most wonderful architecturals! 22 gingerbread brackets with great old chippy paint, columns, crusty old frames, a fabulous clam basket, mirrors, an old pink and white door, one of the best screen doors we've ever seen, old painted ladders, lots of little cubby drawers, ironstone finds, sweet old birdhouses and so much more!
Have a great week!

there's a first time for everything

We had the pleasure of a very sweet little visitor today. Our little friend, Ayden, together with his beautiful Mom and Grandma made his five week old shopping debut at the cottage. It just goes to show you, you're never too young nor too old for the joys of retail therapy.
We hope you're having a great week!

Did a bus just pull-up?
Sunday, July 13
It's a hot Sunday afternoon in Leesburg. The air-conditioning is humming along and the traffic has been tremendous. It's like a bus just pulled up and emptied into the cottage. I love it! The shop looks especially good to me today, so I must say, I'm glad company is seeing it at its best.
It has been a busy week. We've celebrated Ann's birthday. (Happy Birthday Ann) I went to auction and found great stuff! We had a visit from Miss Amy Powers and "baby", along with our new friend Hope Wallace. And last but not least, today is my 17th wedding anniversary! (Happy Anniversary Jim!)
Hope you have a wonderful Sunday afternoon and if you're in the area stop by and say hey!

new old finds . . .
Tuesday, July 8
Linda just came in with a haul she picked up at auction; an awesome old red painted trunk which already found a home with one of our customers, great quilts, an old snack bar sign, a fabulous ottoman with a black iron base, a set of cowbells like no other, a magnificent bed and a set of funky retro dinette chairs. We have some great old birdhouses coming in and also just brought in some great toleware along with lots of other items. I'll be posting some new things on the on-line store today. Here's a little peek for you . . .
